We have 3 Options for trial lessons

Fly 'n Dine

The first is our flagship special treat for 2. You arrive at the airfield and perhaps enjoy the sun on the AV8 terrace for a while and watch what is going on. Many people come to Kemble to watch the activities, you never know what may fly past or drop in, everything from Spitfires, Dakotas, and big jets fly in and out. There may be special aerobatic displays or just regular pilots and students flying in and out. If the weather is nice it is never boring watching the activity at Kemble.

When you are ready, come and find us, then you have your one hour or half hour trial lesson. If both of you want to fly, one flies in the front and actually gets to fly the aircraft, while the other sits in the back, enjoys the ride and often films what is going on at the front. You can see the result of one of these films on the previous page.

After flying, you then take a leisurely lunch at AV8, either inside or outside so you can continue watching the action.

Trial Lessons

Our second option is a Standard trial flying lesson. In all our options, provided you are over 14 years old, you can log the flying and it is recorded as Exercise 3 which is familiarisation. Depending on the weather, and your ability, you may get to handle virtually the whole flight, from take off to landing, and the time in the air. If you are really keen, you may get have a taste of all the lessons that you would be covering in more detail if you decide to learn to fly. Again you may take someone for a ride in the back, and look at your house from the air if it is not too far away if you book the four seat aircraft below for either a 60 minute or 30 minute trial lesson.

Our final option is a trial lesson in our 2 seat training aircraft. This is a bit cheaper than the other options, and it is obviously not possible to take a passenger in the back, but you will be able to experience the simpler aircraft, and as it is aerobatic, if you want to you can do a few simple aerobatics. All the other things above apply to this as well, and it is possible to book this flight as your first official lesson.
